Chicks, Indians tied at halftime

EL RENO, Okla. —

The Chickasha High School football team played to a scoreless tie with El Reno in the first half of its road game against the Indians on Friday night in El Reno.

Chickasha had some opportunities to score, three times getting in the red zone but failing to score. Two of the tries resulted in turnovers on downs, and the other one was a late interception by junior quarterback Cade Morris.

Morris played a decent first half, with the exception of the interception, going 8-for-14 with 61 yards in the first half.

Two receivers had all the receptions for the Fightin’ Chicks, with Daniel Neff grabbing four receptions for 38 yards and Shaq Oliver having four catches for 23 yards.

Morris was also the team’s leading rusher in the first half, carrying the ball seven times for 18 yards. Dalvin Madison ran the ball five times for -1 yards and Neff ran twice for -3 yards.

Chickasha led El Reno in total offense, 75 to 38 in the first half, with the Chicks’ defense holding up in support of the struggling offense.

It was a windy first half with rain in the first quarter, which could have contributed to the slow offensive performances.
