Chickasha is invited to burn calories for a good cause.
Zumba instructors, Tricia Barbosa and Tracy Bloomfield will be hosting Party in Pink beginning at 6 p.m. on Oct. 25 in the USAO Ballroom. The Zumbathon lasts until 8 p.m.
Zumba is a dance fitness program that combines many different styles of dance and aerobic elements.
Two hours may sound like a long time to exercise, but according to Bloomfield, Zumba participants will enjoy themselves.
"It's fitness, but it feels like a party," Bloomfield said.
There will be many different Zumba instructors from around the area, Bloomfield said, bringing different flavors and styles.
Bloomfield said that she is excited to bring Zumba to Chickasha.
"This is a great opportunity to introduce Zumba to the community and do something good," Bloomfield said.
Virtually any age or fitness level can walk in and get involved in Zumba, Bloomfield said. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes, sneakers and pink in support of breast cancer.
During the event, participants will Zumba continuously for two hours.
Among the moving and shaking, there will be prizes, drawings and a recognition of survivors.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Advance tickets can be picked up at Shape Fitness in Chickasha.
All funds raised during the Party in Pink campaign will go to the new Zumba Global Research Grant for Breast Cancer Prevention.
This grant will be managed by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Bloomfield said the community has been supportive in sponsoring the upcoming Party in Pink.
The Drovers Against Cancer, under the supervision of Dr. Jeannette Loutsch, have been supportive of the Zumbathon, providing the location within the USAO Ballroom.
Other community donors include Shape Fitness, Blackjack Beef Jerky, Premier Hair Salon, Straightline Autographics and Signs, Ranch 106.1, KOOL 105.5, First National Bank and Zumba Fitness.
