Fightin' Chicks come back to beat Durant

CHICKASHA — Chickasha came from behind to top No. 19 Durant 51-50, with a three pointer rimming out as the clock expired.

Sophomore Brandon Shumway gave Chickasha the one-point advantage with 10 seconds left by sinking a layup after driving hard to the lane. It gave Shumway 10 points on the night and took Chickasha to 5-14 for the season with the win on Senior Night.

The Fightin’ Chicks fought back from as much as eight points down, that after a slow start to the game. Much of that was owed to a box-1 defense deployed by the Lions, with guard Tyler Stovall sticking to freshman Brock Henderson.

Henderson still did enough to lead the floor with 13 points, but it took a big team effort to overcome a strong Durant defensive front. Stoval led the Lions with 12 points, while Zac Carter finished on 10 points.
