Woman attempts to attack boyfriend during arrest, police say

CHICKASHA —

A woman was arrested for public intoxication yesterday after an alleged argument with her boyfriend, resulting in her becoming angry, breaking some windows and leaving the house.

Chickasha Police Officer Ryan Rahlf said he spoke with Brandon Paine about an alleged domestic disturbance between he and his girlfriend, Guadalupe Esparza.

Paine told Rahlf that Esparza had been drinking and became angry before leaving his home, according to an incident report.

Rahlf said he and Paine found Esparza stumbling in the parking lot of the Virginia Street Apartments.

"While speaking with [Esparza] I noticed her speech was slurred," Rahlf said. "I asked [Esparza] how much she had to drink and she told me, 'way too much!'"

Rahlf said he put Esparza in the back seat of his car to speak with Paine, but went back to speak with Esparza after she kicked the door and window of the car.

"Esparza was extremely irate and was yelling," he said. "Sgt. Jeremy Alexander arrived and we placed her in the back seat of his unit. I noticed that [Esparza] had kicked the bars protecting the window of my unit hard enough that her shoe had become lodged between the bars."

Esparza was arrested for public intoxication and taken to the Grady County Jail.
