Lady Chicks punch state ticket

EDMOND, Okla. — The Chickasha girls will extend their postseason to the state tournament round after a 48-42 win over El Reno in area on Saturday.

An early lead was never vanquished as Chickasha maintained a solid performance through four quarters. In yet another team effort this postseason, sophomore Dominique Golightly led the way with a double-doube, 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Fellow sophomore Taylor Sylvester proved the most crucial on defense with 11 blocks to go with nine points. Senior Alex Stewart finished with no less than 5 assists and eight points.

At the center of El Reno’s comeback attempts was Sydney Gray, whose 10 points led for the Lady Indians. She worked in tandem with her sister, Sheridan, who finished on eight points, to reduce the deficit to four as the clock ticked down to halftime. Regan Davis finished with nine points for El Reno.
