A man was arrested for stealing merchandise from Love's–including two kinds of pie–on Monday.
A Love's employee reported that a man came in the store with empty pockets and left with his pockets full of merchandise.
The Chickasha Police Officer that was dispatched to the scene reported that he was familiar with the man matching the store employee's description. The employee said that the male walked east from the store and down an alley.
The officer made contact with Alan Christopher Barton in the north alley of the 900 block of West Chickasha Ave. The officer said that Barton had a cherry pie, an apple pie, two packages of chocolate donuts and a pair of gloves.
Barton would not tell the officer where he got the items and denied that he was at Love's. The officer said Barton attempted to conceal the items by placing them underneath a vehicle and beside his blanket.
The officer photographed the items and compared them to the other merchandise at Love's. All items were identical to the items Love's had in stock. The Love's employee had reported she saw Barton next to each of them.
Barton had been banned from that particular Love's on May 10, 2007.
Barton was arrested for knowingly concealing stolen property and larceny of merchandise from a retailer. He was booked into the Grady County Jail.
