Man alledgedly hit girlfriend after being accused of holding drugs

CHICKASHA —

A man was arrested for domestic abuse on Feb. 14 after being accused of bringing drugs into her house by his girlfriend of four years.

Chickasha Police Officer LeAnthony Bell said he found Courtney Carter crying after sending her boyfriend, Christopher Wentz, out of the house. Bell found the living room of the house in disarray with various items scattered on the floor, according to the affidavit.

Bell said Carter told him the argument began when she ordered Wentz to leave her home. Wentz began yelling and refused to leave.

Carter told Wentz she was going to call her uncle to get him out of the house, and Wentz backed her into a corner in the living room and took her phone, Bell said.

She asked for the phone back and was backed into a corner again, where Wentz allegedly raised his fist, she turned to block the punch and Wentz grabbed the back of her neck to bring her back but she pushed him and ran, the affidavit reads.

Wentz was arrested for domestic abuse and taken to the Grady County Jail.
