Driver arrested for crash that injured passenger

CHICKASHA —

Police arrested a man suspected of driving under the influence after he was involved in a motorcycle accident that left the passenger permanently disfigured.

Daniel Cicsco was taken to Grady County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing an accident resulting in great bodily injury while intoxicated on Monday. Chickasha Police responded to an accident in the 1500 block of S Grand Street, in which Cisco was determined to be the driver.

According to a CPD report, Cisco was traveling around 10 miles per hour over the speed limit as he tried to negotiate a turn. It failed and the bike ran off the road with Stacy Helguera as a passenger, witnesses said.

Helguera reportedly slid on the pavement, leaving her dizzy with multiple lacerations to the face, the report reads. The officer includes in his report that the injuries "were serious enough to cause permanent disfigurement to her face."

Helguera told police that she and Cicsco had been drinking prior to the accident. The officer reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from Cisco's breath and that he had slow, thick and slurred speech. Cisco was left with minor injuries, but said he never lost consciousness nor hit his head.
