Burglary suspect accused of threatening his victim

A man was arrested for first degree burglary Friday morning after he allegedly broke into a house and threatened its residents.

Chickasha Police Officer Joel Hendrix said he found Colby Rodgers in an alley behind a residence in the 300 block of W. Illinois Ave. Rodgers took off running after seeing CPD officers.

Hendrix said he did a safety sweep of a residence in the area with its backdoor open where he found Rodgers lying under a cabinet and other materials.

"Rodgers admitted to drinking and said he was here to sleep it off," Hendrix said.

The person watching over the property Rodgers was found in, said he did not have permission to be in the house.

Earlier in the evening, officers were notified that Rodgers pushed his way into a house on the 200 block of W. Illinois and threatened a resident.

"The victim told Rodgers he was not welcomed inside the house or on the property," Hendrix said. "Rodgers then 'chest bumped' the victim and stated 'all snitches die.'"

Rodgers admitted to being at that property earlier in the evening and that he went inside.

Rodgers was arrested for burglary in the first degree, entering a residence without permission and public intoxication.
