UPDATE 1:42: OHP investigating double fatality traffic accident

CHICKASHA — Two are deceased after an oil field truck was struck by a semi while trying to cross U.S. 62 from CR 2790 in Verden.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Jewell said there were four people in the pickup truck, two who are deceased and two who are in critical condition and taken to Grady Memorial until they can be moved to a hospital in Oklahoma City.

Jewell said the driver of the semi sustained minor injuries and may need to go to the hospital to be looked at.

The crash occurred when the pickup failed to yield to eastbound traffic and was struck by the semi, he said.
