Cool temps, rain hit Grady County

A break from the hot weather is on the horizon this week for Grady County.

Residents can expect possible record low highs for July this week thanks to a cool front and rainy weather, Dale Thompson, Grady County Emergency Management Director, said at the Grady County Commissioners meeting.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday with a slight chance–20 percent–on Friday.

The safe room meetings on Friday had a decent turnout, Thompson said. He reiterated that applications are due Aug. 15 and that safe rooms built before the award letters are released to residents will not be eligible for the rebate.
