Ford stepping down as Main Street director

CHICKASHA —

Main Street Director Andrew Ford announced he will resign from his position at the end of this month earlier this week.

"I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity over past year to help in the revitalization of the downtown area," he said. "We have made some very positive strides and I believe that with help from everyone, the process will continue.  I hope that we can assure the people of Chickasha that something like this does not happen overnight and that it takes time.  Even if it is something small like planting a holly bush or something big like painting a building, every little bit matters and I hope that the Main Street Association will continue their efforts in the process."

Ford said an opportunity that would greatly benefit he and his family was presented to him and he could not pass it up.

He thanked the city for all the help he received and said he will help Main Street any way he can in the future.

Ford replaced Laurie Allen as Main Street Director in early 2013.
