Chickasha football loses to Del City

DEL CITY, Okla. — The Chickasha High School football team lost its third game in a row Friday on the road against Del City High School.

The Fightin' Chicks lost 30-7, and drop to 3-5 this season and 1-4 in 5A-1 district play.

For the second game in a row, Chickasha could not do anything with the running game, finishing with 27 yards on 26 carries against a big, athletic Del City defense.

Jacoby Brown ended up being the Fightin' Chicks' leading rusher with seven yards on two carries and one touchdown.

Chickasha had 224 yards of total offense, and half of those can be credited to Shaq Oliver, who caught three passes for 112 yards, including the 96-yard reception that set up Brown's touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Deshawn Young caught four passes for 49 yards, Brandon Wright had three receptions for 63 yards, and Daniel Neff had two catches for 21 yards.

Cade Morris went 14-for-29 for 251 yards and one interception.

Chickasha couldn't match up with Del City running back Corey Lawrence. Lawrence lived up to the hype with 260 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries and 33 receiving yards on two catches.

Eagles' quarterback John McBride had 145 yards rushing on 24 carries.

Chickasha's next game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at home against Southeast, and it will be senior night.
