— The Chickasha Middle School eighth grade basketball team lost 35-28 on the road to Anadarko.

Addisyn Chambers was the team's leading scorer with 10 points, Jaycie Brown scored eight points, Savanah Gallegos scored four points, Laekyn Parish scored three points, Keylee Cauthen scored two points, and Meredith Noland scored one.

The 7th grade boys basketball team lost 47-20 to Anadarko.

"It was a rough night for us turning the ball over like we did, leading to a lot of fast break points for Anadarko and giving them a good lead on us," head coach Larry Coley said.

Grady McKnight led the team with seven points, Carlos Pando scored four points, Ben Neidy, Brandon Williams, Jared Salazar and Isaac Cantu scored two points each, and Jacob McClanahan scored one point.

"We still have things that we can work on as a team to get better and learning some fundamentals of basketball for individuals," Coley said. "We are practicing hard and things will turn around for the guys, but it will take some time."

The seventh grade girls basketball team lost a close game to Anadarko, 29-24.

"Good game for us. We played really hard," head coach Nancy Waters said. "Stayed close the whole way."

Tamia Murry scored eight points, Erin Powell scored seven points, Anna Bishop scored five points, and Brittany Alexander and Tina Bradford scored two points each.

"The girls did a great job rebounding and handling their defensive pressure," Waters said. "Really proud of how hard the girls worked and the effort they have been putting into practice and games."

The middle school boys and girls will both play against Shawnee on Monday, with the boys at home and the girls on the road.
