CHICKASHA —

A man and woman landed in the hospital in critical condition Tuesday night after a single vehicle accident on County Road 1370 west of Chickasha.

Rogelio Luna Meza, 35, was the passenger in a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe that crashed while heading east bound at a high rate of speed, according to a report from Oklahoma Highway Patrol(OHP). The report states the vehicle, driven by Martha Thrash, 28, from Anadarko, went off the road on the right before the driver overcorrected off to the left.

When the driver overcorrected again, the vehicle rolled about three and a half times before coming to a rest. Luna Meza was admitted to Saint Anthony Hospital via Chickasha EMS with head, arm, internal as well as other external injuries.

Thrash was transported by Mediflight to OU Medical with similar injuries and both were listed in critical condition.

An initial OHP investigation determined that high rate of speed was the cause for the accident. The report noted an odor of alcoholic beverage from the driver, but it was not determined to be a contributing factor.
