The Chickasha Senior Citizens Center is getting a makeover this weekend.
After almost two decades of the same tile flooring and wall structure, contractors will install some carpet and rework the walls.
"The building was built in 1986, so this is just an update," Harold Irby, site manager said. "It needs a face lift."
The money for the construction came from sales tax and Irby said after looking around the building he knew it was time to utilize some of those funds.
"It's used to help senior citizens in the community and we serve hot meals every day," he said. "It was just time to go ahead, spend some money and make some updates."
In addition to providing hot meals and activities for seniors, the center also will take meals to seniors in the community unable to make it to the center.
