Chickasha High School Ag. Farm Vandalized

The Chickasha High School Agricultural Barn, and some of the animals that reside in the facility, were vandalized late Tuesday night.

"Chickasha Police were dispatched to the Chickasha Ag Barn on the 3200 block of Georgia in reference to vandalism.  Chance McPherson, an AG Teacher, told police that between 10:30 p.m. Oct. 14 and 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 15, someone got into the barns and let all the cattle, hogs, and sheep out of their pens, spray painted graffiti on the walls of the barn, and spray painted on two show hogs," a release from CPD states.

The animals were found in the pastures west of the barns and some of the cattle made their way to 29th Street, but McPherson managed to herd all of the animals back into their respective pens.

Spray paint was used on two show hogs in the barn and the facility was also vandalized with paint.

"McPherson stated that there were two sheep that had gotten into a hog pen and ate hog feed, which is harmful to them.  The two sheep are being treated in accordance with veterinary instructions but it will not be known how badly they are hurt for a few days," the release states."McPherson also reported that a black show boar had developed a limp that may keep it from being shown next week.  McPherson said that he believed the limp was from fighting with other hogs, when they were all let out at the same time."

Anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 405-222-TIPS (8477) or Text tips to CRIMES (274-637) and use the keyword, Chicktip.
