OKLAHOMA CITY — The 5A fast-pitch softball state championship game between Chickasha High School and Grove High School has been postponed, and is now scheduled to be played at 4:30 p.m. Monday at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
Piedmont and Oologah started Saturday off with the 4A state championship game, but lightning and rain cause the game to be called off part way through. That game will be resumed at 2 p.m. Monday.
Grove is 24-5, and hasn't lost a game since Aug. 31, when the team lost 12-2 to Rock Canyon (Colorado) in the Tournament of Champions in Erie, Colo.
Monday won't be the first time The Lady Chicks will face the Ridgerunners. The two teams met at Hall of Fame Stadium on Aug. 24 in a tournament, and Grove won 6-0.
Chickasha beat Tahlequah and Deer Creek to reach the championship game. Grove beat Duncan and Carl Albert in the first two rounds.
