Drover men's cross country wraps up first season

— In the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships, freshman Jeffrey Poolaw recorded his best time to date for an eight-kilometer race.

Poolaw finished the course in 30:10, more than 25 seconds fast than he did in the previous race. This record is the second fastest time recorded by a Drover this season.

Matthew Crow was the Drovers’ second racer to finish, crossing the finish line at 32:21. Coming in right after him was Kieran Brennan, who completed the course in exactly 33 minutes.

Junior Aaron Manuel and senior Chisum Lane finished in 35:29 and 39:34 respectively.

The Drovers finished eighth in the Sooner Athletic Conference. It was the conference championship meet and the Drovers’ last competition of the first season for the program.

While the season saw new personal and school records for the runners, the squad hopes to continue to improve in 2013.
