County jail service agreement approved at Minco City Council

The Minco City Council unanimously approved the Grady County Jail Service Agreement to house Minco offenders at the current rate of $57 per day Monday.

Vieregge said Ellis will be reviewed in two months.

The city council also unanimously approved an increase to the "animals at large" fines.

Vieregge said the fines for the first, second and third animal at large offense will increase by $20 and the fine for the fourth offense will increase by $80.

She said first-time offenders previously only had get a tag from the city. The fine for second-time offenders was $20, and $60 for third and fourth-time offenders before the vote.

Vieregge said the city will begin implementing the increased fines in approximately 30 days.

The proposed armory contract template, a plan to implement a drug and alcohol testing policy for city employees, and revision of the City of Minco employee handbook were tabled.
