In addition to the truck being painted a pale pink, a "Find the cure" ribbon is painted on the hood as well as the side of the truck.
Because pink firetrucks cannot be purchased from Ford, a white truck was ordered and Tieg Autobody applied the rosy hue.
The about $80,000 truck did not put the county in the red. It was purchased via REAP and CBDG grants, Thompson said.
Senator Ron Justice said that the REAP grants have been helpful to the rural communities they were designed to aide. Justice said the state has also utilized the funds well.
