Lady Chicks double-up on Del City

In what turned out to be the final inning, head coach Dennis Furr reminded Chickasha they only needed two more to run-rule the Lady Eagles; they got three. Bradford's single brought Jaycie Brown, pinch running for Gore, across, and a two RBI double from Burns killed off the game.

In an active evening of offense, Burns stood out, going 3-for-3 with a run and four RBI. Bradford went 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBI. Elam went 1-for-1 and walked twice to score three runs.

Game two of the night began  similarly to the first. Shorty Clift got things started with a double and crossed home for the opening run off a sacrifice fly from Gore. After a decent outing in the first game, Tori Smith showed she was saving some for later. Her triple brought in Brown, Bradford and Burns, while Tristin Watkins got Smith across home with a single to make it 5-0 after one inning.

Furr played subs and junior varsity players after that, who all managed to do the rest and keep Chickasha undefeated.

Perhaps even a stronger statement than this that the Lady Chicks are gunning for state, they beat Grove, the team that edged them for the title last year, 10-0 at the Hall of Fame tournament on Saturday.
