Heavy rains, wind gusts across Grady County Tuesday

— The weather on April 9 was full of extremes. The balmy 70s dropped in the evening as dark clouds moved in and temperatures dropped to the upper 30s by night.

Heavy rain, up to 1.76 inches in northern Grady County, according to National Weather Service, fell Tuesday night and throughout Wednesday afternoon.

No damage from the storms was reported according to Paulette Nicholas, Grady County Emergency Management Deputy. However, there was a fire at the old Arby's building on Grand Ave. in Chickasha. Greg Gibson, Chickasha Fire Chief said that it could not be determined if the fire was weather related, but appeared to an electrical in nature.
