CHICKASHA —

A Chickasha man unexpectedly found drugs and a potentially dangerous weapon in his backyard Monday.

Chickasha Police Officer Ryan Rahlf said he was called to Keith Wilson's home about a bag of marijuana and a semi-automatic handgun he found in his backyard.

Rahlf said Wilson told him he feared his children might find the items, so he brought them into his house and called police.

"[Wilson] brought me inside and and showed me the gun and marijuana," he said. "I removed the magazine from the gun and learned that the magazine had six bullets in it. The gun did not have a bullet in the chamber."

Rahlf said the marijuana was to be destroyed and the gun was taken in for fingerprinting because of a man previously caught in the area.
