CHICKASHA — The Chickasha Public Schools Board of Education unanimously accepted former School Board Member Ryan Copeland's resignation at a special meeting last night, appointing Chris Ludwell to his seat.

Ludwell is taking over in the middle of Copeland's two-year term.

"Knowing a lot of teachers and school board members, I felt compelled to help out," Ludwell said.

Ludwell said he plans to follow the leadership of the current school board and expects budget to be the biggest problem facing the board.

Copeland's resignation came after he was arrested in January on charges of illegally filming a female family member undressing in her bedroom, as previously reported by the Express-Star.

According to an affidavit, his wife, Raina Copeland, reported the videos to the district attorney's office.

Raina found the videos in a gun safe and replaced them with blank disks, so Ryan wouldn't know she found them.
