OHP: Lindsay man pronounced dead after hitting a water pump

CHICKASHA —  Randal Smith, 61, of Lindsay was pronounced dead at the scene after he crashed into a water transfer pump on County Road 1520 in Grady County on Friday.    

Smith was thrown 65 feet from the 1995 Chevrolet truck he had been driving. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Smith was transported to Winans Funeral Home, according to an OHP report.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
