A man who was struck by a red truck on highway 81 early yesterday morning, will most likely face leg amputation according to a press release from the Chickasha Police Department.
The affidavit states CPD Officer David Michael Harper-Head responded to a call in the 800 block of Highway 81 at 12:40 a.m.
"At around this time I saw a white male being loaded into the back of an ambulance," the affidavit states. "I would learn the subject's name is Brandon Green. Green had obvious significant trauma to his lower left leg."
The report goes on to say Officer Harper-Head spoke with Sgt. Jeremy Alexander, who told him that Green has been outside of his vehicle, on the side of the highway when the truck collided with him.
"I saw there was a a white male seated in the driver's seat of the red truck," the report reads. "I spoke with this male and he identified himself as Charles Dwayne Brown. While speaking with Brown, I could smell a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage about his breath and person."
Brown was slurring his speech according to the report and claimed he'd consumed three beers at Salt Creek Casino.
Brown said he finished the last beer an hour before the incident, the report states.
After being cleared at the hospital, Officer Harper-Head arrested Brown for DUI, DUI causing great bodily harm and failure to maintain a single lane of traffic.
Doctor's at Oklahoma University Hospital said Green would likely have to have his left leg amputated due to the trauma caused by the wreck.
The report states Green's vehicle and a trailer he was pulling were both parked on the right side of the road to the right of the white fog line.
