Man arrested wearing clothes he allegedly intended to steal

A man was  arrested for shoplifting in Walmart on Wednesday where he was found wearing the items he's accused of intending to steal.

Chickasha Police Officer Eric Burkhart located Slater Cole in the men's department in Walmart. He was wearing socks, shoes and a pair of red shorts he'd taken from the shelves, according to Burkhart.

"Cole said that he intended on paying for the items that he had on," said Burkhart.

An asset protection employee for Walmart said Cole threw the tags from the items on a shelf and never went back to retrieve them, according to Burkhart.

Cole admitted to drinking a Dr. Pepper while walking around the store as well and stealing chap stick.

"Cole later told me he didn't know what he was thinking," said Burkhart.

The stolen items totaled $28.32. Burkhart said he escorted Cole to the restroom where he took the stolen clothing and put his clothing back on.

Cole was then placed under arrest and transported to the Grady County Jail.
