Local teams enter playoff race

A, Rush Springs (4-5) at Cashion (8-2), 7:30 p.m.

A big 33-0 win over Walters and results elsewhere in A District 4 helped the Redskins to a  third place finish and a meeting with Cashion on Friday. The win means they narrowly avoided a meeting with fellow Grady County opponents and number one seed Minco in the first round, but it won't be an easy task on the road against a strong Cashion team. Even if Rush Springs comes out on top, they still have the likes of Okeene (9-1), undefeated Talihina (10-0), or Summit Christian (9-1) to contend with.

B, Ringwood (6-4) at Alex (10-0)

The Longhorns will hope to avoid a repeat of last season when they were upset in the first round by Garber 46-14. A win over Ringwood is expected, but it sets up a meeting with either Coyle (8-1) or Davenport (8-2) the following week. A semifinal could easily mean battling it out with undefeated Wetumka (10-0) and then, possibly, a state title game meeting with Class B favorites Laverne (10-0).
