Chicks win Pauls Valley tournament

— The Chickasha High School wrestling team got its first tournament win of the season, winning the Pauls Valley Invitational over the weekend.

Four Chickasha wrestlers won the championships in their weight classes. Jacoby Brown was the heavyweight champion, and was also named Outstanding Wrestler of a tournament for the first time this season.

Chickasha has had the Outstanding Wrestler at all three tournaments it has competed in this season, with David Eakers winning the honor at the Deer Creek and Anadarko tournaments.

Dakota Resendez (113), Eakers (138) and Josh Latham (182) also won their championships.

Finishing second were Lamar Neff (106), Triston Hill (145) and Riley Williams (170). Coy Richardson (152) finished fourth.

For the junior high Chickasha wrestling team, Montana Moon placed second at 80 pounds. Dao Xian Lim was third at 162 pounds, and Nick Sales was fourth at 132 pounds.

Chickasha will go to Shawnee for a dual at 6 p.m. today, and is scheduled to dual Carl Albert in Midwest City at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The Fightin' Chicks won't compete again at home until Jan. 17, during the homecoming dual against Harrah.
