If Santa brings you an iPad this Christmas, you'll find that it can be a little overwhelming to know where to start. There are a lot of fun and interesting apps out there. This list is all about free, Christmassy apps to get you started.
Cut the Rope: Holiday Gift
From the makers of Cut the Rope, this game presents Om Nom, the little dinostar of the game, in the Christmas spirit. And of course, hungry for candy. As with the original title, the game consists of cutting rope, using physics and strategy to get the candy to Om Nom. Aside from the holiday themes, Holiday Gift doesn't differ much from the original. So, if you get a craving for this sweet game after undecking the halls, the original Cut the Rope is $0.99.
The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Simpsons fans will love this holiday app. Help rebuild Springfield after Homer destroys it via not doing his job while being too distracted playing on his MyPad. (Hmmm.) The tutorial is hilarious. Simpsons-esque dialog trains you to play the game. After that, you're on your own to rebuild Springfield to its former zany glory. Short on cash? You can rob the alternate Springfield every 24 hours.
Good, cheesy holiday fun, that's Tap Christmas. Tap on the gifts to make sure the right present or number of presents make it out on the assembly line. Not the most graphic intensive, but there's cheery Christmas music, Santa, presents and good old fashioned iPad tapping. Cute free app.
