A man allegedly tried to resist arrest after a Chickasha Police Officer investigated him for public intoxication.
Chickasha Sgt. Jeremy Alexander said he was on patrol when he observed a male in the 300 block of Minnesota Avenue moving sporadically and staring into space.
"I could see what appeared to be metallic flakes from paint around his mouth," said Alexander.
The suspect continued to exhibit multiple signs of intoxication, according to Alexander.
"I asked the male for identification and he started digging through the bag he had," said Alexander. "The male fumbled through the bag for a little while. I told him to stop; he was slow to respond."
Alexander said the suspect obviously had several things in his pockets.
"I told the male to turn around so I could pat him down," said Alexander. "The male refused and started backing away."
Alexander said he grabbed ahold of the male and put his arms behind his back. The suspect continued to struggle prompting Alexander to bend the male over the hood of his car. Despite the suspect's efforts to pull away, Alexander said he was able to handcuff and arrest him for public intoxication and resisting a police officer.
Alexander said he located a metallic spray paint on the person of the suspect that matched the colors of the flakes on the male's mouth. The suspect was identified as Michael Brown.
Brown said he only huffed a little paint earlier in the day, according to a police report.
Brown was booked into Grady County Jail without incident.
