Woodward, Okla. —
A long trip to Woodward for Chickasha soccer last Friday proved fruitful, with the girls continuing their unbeaten start to the season and the boys picking up their first win.
The Lady Chicks started things off in dramatic fashion by beating Woodward girls on penalty kicks after they finished the game tied 1-1. Tara Arnold, Amanda Black, Alyssa Willetts and Haley Black all made their kicks from the spot, while first-year goalkeeper and senior Madison Snyder saved a Woodward penalty to help Chickasha to the win.
Chickasha's Katie Hinch scored their only goal in regulation off an assist from Arnold.
The boys rounded out the trip with a 2-1 win, marking their first victory of the 2014 season. Chance Mata scored his second of the season while Devin Warden recorded his first in the win.
Chickasha is out of action for Spring Break and will play next starting March 27 when they host the Chickasha Invitational Tournament.
