CHICKASHA —

It was a busy night for Chickasha goalkeeper Riley Williams, who found himself under siege at times during the Chicks' 2-0 loss to Newcastle on Tuesday.

A difficult night ended with two goals either side of halftime for the Racers, as Chickasha missed out in their first district encounter of 2014. There were respites as the Fightin' Chicks made their way forward, but they weren't able to produce that decisive pass enough times to get on the score sheet themselves.

Newcastle struck first midway through the first half. The Chicks tried to answer back with attacks of their own, but the opportunities never presented themselves.

Williams was forced to make save after save to keep his team in the game. They went into halftime down just a goal and with a chance to rectify things.

Early on, Newcastle put that to bed by doubling their advantage. Cole Young and Chance Mata tried to get Chickasha's attack going but to no success. They spent most of their time in the midfield or on their own end of the pitch.

A trip to Madill awaits the Fightin' Chicks on Friday, with the match kicking off at around 7:30 p.m.
