Chicks get outrun by Tigers at home

CHICKASHA —  

The Chickasha High School football team lost its second game in a row, dropping a district matchup at home against Ardmore on Friday night.

The Fightin’ Chicks lost 34-24, and the loss drops them to 3-4 this season and 1-3 in district play.

Cade Morris went 19-for-34 for 261 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions, as Chickasha had to rely on the pass in the absence of any rushing success.

Chickasha only rushed for 19 yards on 29 carries. On the other hand, Ardmore was almost exclusively a running team in the game, rushing for 362 yards on 46 carries.

Daniel Neff was Chickasha’s leading receiver with five catches for 88 yards and one touchdown. Deshawn Young caught five passes for 69 yards and a touchdown. Shaq Oliver had 62 yards on four catches and one touchdown.

The Tigers only threw six passes, completing three of them for 21 yards and one interception. Jamarcus Mills and Kydric Knox both ran for more than 100 yards. Mills had two touchdowns and Knox had one.

Levi Kell was the leading Fightin’ Chicks tackler with 8.5. Jacoby Brown had six tackles.

Chickasha’s next game will be played at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Del City High School against the Eagles.
