Blanchard remained top of 3A District 1 with a 46-14 homecoming win over Marlow.
Marlow (4-2) started with the ball, and looked lively early on. Braeden O'Dell's run got them down the field, and they followed that up with a deep pass to junior Nick Yates. But the Lions defense shut down Marlow quick, forcing a punt.
The Lions (6-0) made their first drive count, although it wasn't without some trouble. Penalties gave Blanchard a second and nineteen in their own territory. That didn't stop quarterback Blake Owen from connecting with Braden Busch to get them out of trouble. Owen later did the honors by running in the touchdown.
Marlow brought back a long kickoff, but that was canceled out by a fumble recovered by Blanchard to end the first quarter.
In the second frame, star running back Braden Stringer finally broke loose and went 35 yards to the house. It was quickly 13-0 Lions, and they weren't done just yet.
While the Blanchard defense held firm again, the Outlaws' punt pegged them back on their own one. It only prolonged a 45-yard run by Brandon Montano for the touchdown.
Later, Marlow actually recovered a fumble as it looked like momentum might swing their way. But, once again the visitors had to punt. A short pass to Parker Randal got the Blanchard drive going before Stringer got his second touchdown of the night to make the score 26-0 by halftime.
The Outlaws came out fighting in the second half. Kagan Blackburn returned a kickoff after a Blanchard field goal to strike back for the Outlaws. Yates then gave Marlow another touchdown on a reverse run, as the visitors looked to keep pace. But ultimately, Blanchard prevailed to remain unbeaten.
