CHS girls honored at conference, state level

On top of being apart of the first Chickasha girls team to reach state in nearly two decades, some Lady Chicks came away from this season with conference and all-state honors.

Sophomore Dominique Golightly was named to the all-Suburban Conference First Team. She is joined at the conference level by Taylor Sylvester, who received honorable mention all-conference honors. Sylvester led Chickasha with 16 points in their first round state game this year.

Golightly led the team to state with a double-double 18 points and 13 rebounds against El Reno at area.

Senior Alex Stewart was named all-conference third team, but also receive an all-state honor. The Oklahoma Girls Basektball Coaches Association named Stewart to the Large West team that will compete in this summer's All-State games.

Stewart will find herself lining up alongside some of Chickasha's opponents from this season, including Lawton-MacArthur's Paj Jackson, Jordan Gilbert from Carl Albert, and Whitney Jones from Deer Creek in the Large West team.

Stewart finished the season on fire for Chickasha, culminating in a 28 point performance against Ardmore in the area round of playoffs.
