The Bridge Creek Lady Bobcats soccer team came back from Spring Break with a blowout home win over McCloud on Monday.
Bridge Creek won the game 9-0. The Bobcats recovered from losing to Cache, 3-1, on March 15.
"We played Cache before the break, and lost 3-1, and they're pretty good," head coach Jason Sanders said. "We kind of felt like we needed to improve on getting a little more physically conditioned.
"We put in a lot of work on our conditioning over the break, and I felt like it really paid off."
Carly Hodge led the way with three goals. One of her goals was assisted by Autumn Gilchrest, one was a penalty kick, and one was unassisted.
Sarah Hill, Megan Mayfield and Gilchrest scored two goals each.
"We had a couple of opportunities that we usually finish that we didn't, and we gave up a goal we thought we shouldn't have, so we feel like we're right there," Sanders said of the Cache game. "We feel like if we were eligible for the playoffs, we would be competitive with the top teams in the state in 4A."
Up next for Bridge Creek is the Chickasha Invitational, beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday against Harrah.
"I really think Harrah will be a good matchup, they're a solid squad," Sanders said. "It'll be a good chance to see where we're at against a team that's traditionally pretty good."
