Am-Po gets win, loss in Binger

Binger-Oney —

A rollercoaster of a night in Binger-Oney produced a big loss and a big win for Amber-Pocasset baseball.

A 10-4 loss to the hosts resulted in a turnaround performance from the Panthers, who went on to beat Calumet 13-3. By splitting the games that night, Am-Po takes their record to 12-9 for the fall.

Ethan James was pivotal in the win over Calumet, with two hits and three RBI. Stanton James also had two hits in the game, while Tristin Herron added a hit and three more RBI. Dylan Hargus had two RBI.

With a narrow 4-3 lead after the first two innings, Am-Po took hold of the game with three runs in the fourth and a decisive six runs in the fifth. Levi Scott started on the mound and kept the Chieftains from matching Am-Po's offensive effort. Scott had 12 strikeouts in the game while only giving up three hits.

Binger-Oney proved a more difficult test for the Panthers, but Scott was still able to have an influence from the plate with 3 RBI and two hits. Hargus took to the mound in 2.1 innings and managed to get four strikeouts. The Bobcats were just too strong offensively for Am-Po to handle. Once they took a 2-1 lead to end the first inning, they never relinquished it and went on to score three more in the third and five in the fifth to complete the rout.

Am-Po returns home to face Ft. Cobb-Broxton tonight at 5 p.m.
