CHS places 13th in state swim meet

EDMOND, Okla. —

Chickasha had five swimmers and three relay teams advance to the final rounds of the Class 5A State Meet on Saturday. 

The Fightin' Chicks finished 13th overall for their performance. The boys' 200-yard medley relay placed 10th in the finals, improving from an 11th place finish they had on Friday in qualifiers. Andrew Ross, Kale Nye, Dale Courtney and Jared Thomson were part of the team that set a new time.

The same four swimmers finished 12th in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Thomson, Nye, Ross and Gabriel Oliver competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay and finished 14th.

Courtney finished in 14th as an individual in the 500-yard freestyle. Ross competed in the 100-yard freestyle finals after finishing 14th on Friday to qualify. He improved to 13th place on Saturday with a new best time.
