Central sends Minco out of playoffs

CHICKASHA — Minco boys’ postseason run came to an early end at Central High School near Marlow on Friday, when the hosts sent them home with a 54-40 loss.

Ian Hickman was hitting from all angles to lead the floor with 21 points. The win means Central move onto the district final to face Walters on Saturday.

The Bulldogs worked hard to use Blake Schneberger’s size advantage, and came away with 12 points. Hunter Jones was hitting early for Minco and came away with 10 points, including a three pointer in the third quarter to cut Central’s lead to two points.

The Brochos had come back after being down by two at halftime. Kevin Harris scored 10 points in the second half, and 12 overall, to lead Central’s comeback effort.
