GRADY COUNTY —
Classes 2A-5A teams discovered their playoff prospects on Thursday when the OSSAA released dates and times for district, regional and area games.
Tuttle have a more straightforward path to the regional round in Class 4A, but which one they take will be determined by their Friday night contest against Bethany. The girls and boys (ranked ninth) play at 6:30 and 8 p.m. on Feb. 21 in Tuttle, where regional round games will also be hosted the following weekend.
Both the winner and runner-up of the district round will advance to the regionals, Tuttle will face either Madill or Plainview.
In the same Class 4A Area III, Anadarko hosts Blanchard boys and girls on Feb. 22. The No. 2-ranked Lady Warriors start things off at 6:30 p.m., followed by the No. 4 Warriors. The game will decide who meets either Byng or Dickson in the regional round, also hosted by Anadarko, on Feb. 27.
Class 2A sees the Minco girls get a bye to the District 4 final in Area I, while the Bulldogs must beat Central High to reach district. That game is scheduled for Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. at Central, with the winner playing Walters the following night. That same night, the Lady Bulldogs will play the winner of Walters or Central to decide who enters the regional winners bracket and the consolation bracket.
Minco hosts the Feb. 27 regional round, where they will play either Fairview, Crescent or Oklahoma Bible. If they advance, the boys will face the same teams, and the Oklahoma Bible boys are ranked fifth in Class 2A.
In Area III both Amber-Pocasset and Rush Springs girls get a bye into their district finals on Feb. 22. The No. 15 Lady Redskins will host either Christian Heritage or Elmore City-Pernell at 6:30 p.m. in the District 5 final. Dibble and Ninnekah face each other in an elimination game on Friday, Feb. 21at 6:30 p.m. in Cordell for the right to play the hosts the following night and pass through to regionals.
The Ninnekah boys will have to beat Cordell on Friday, Feb. 21, to play Ninnekah in Cordell the next day in District 1. A win would also see the Owls through to play either Silo, Wayne or Am-Po boys in the regional round in Amber. The Panthers also have a District semifinal to play on Friday at 8 p.m. against Wayne.
Rush Springs boys must get past Elmore-City Pernell to take on Christian Heritage in the District 5 final.
