"We played much better last night, we rebounded the ball better and were able to get out on the fast break," head coach Nancy Waters said. "The defense did a great job of putting pressure on their ball handlers, which caused them to turn the ball over. We're learning and getting better every game."

The Chickasha Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team lost 25-15 to Elgin.

Grady McKnight and Larry Abram scored three points each. Jacob McClanahan, Carlos Pando, David Thibodeaux and Ben Niedy scored two points each. Jasten Sanchez had one point.

"Overall the kids played really well and showed a lot of fight and character," head coach Larry Coley said. "Our biggest problem is shooting the ball. We missed lay-ups, easy jump shots and were nervous shooting free throws.

"We will work on that in practice over the next few days and get ready to go play Anadarko on Thursday."
