Lady Redskins win in Alex

ALEX — In early season play Rush Springs overcame Alex Tuesday night 71-63 behind an outstanding performance by Jordan Brooks.

The 5’ 9” freshman was a constant force in the game and came away with 39 points, more than half of her team’s total. The Lady Longhorns put up a fight in the end, coming from 10 points down to within three of tying the game.

Alex kept pace with the performance of junior Ashley Williams, who led her team with 26 points on the night. Senior Jordan Washburn contributed to the effort with 19 points, while point guard Holly Anderson put in 11. A couple of well-timed three pointers brought the Lady Longhorns slowly back, but Rush Springs answered time and time again to keep ahead.

Jacy Cullers put in 13 points for Rush Springs.
