Sooners blow big lead in Big 12 Tournament

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Oklahoma’s stay in the Big 12 tournament was brief and now it has three full days to sweat out its NCAA Tournament hopes.

The Sooners lost to Iowa State 73-66 Thursday afternoon at Sprint Center. The loss may not keep them from getting into the field of 68, but they’re out of opportunities to improve their chances.

The loss dropped the Sooners to 20-11 overall. The Cyclones improved to 22-10.

OU has now lost two straight games and three of their last five overall. This one occurred despite the Sooners building 13-point lead, 56-43, midway through the second half. Iowa State closed the game on a 30-10 run from that point.

Romero Osby led the Sooners with 18 points and Cameron Clark added 17 off the bench.

Melvin Ejim scored a game-high 23 points, including 10 in the final 10 minutes for the Cyclones.
