They’re one win away from the State Tournament.
Tuttle beat OKC Bishop McGuinness 3-1 and whipped Piedmont 12-0 to advance to the finals of the 4A Regional they are hosting.
In the first round, Brett Coffman pitched five strong innings and Doug Carel came on to work two innings and pick up the save in a 3-1 win.
Corey Hawk went 3-for-3 and drove in a run. Aaron Meuser also drove in a run in the win.
In the winner’s bracket game against Piedmont, Tyler Henson controlled the game. Henson pitched three shutout innings, allowing only one hit.
He went 3-for-4 at the plate with two home runs and a double. He drove in five runs. Coffman went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Andrew Harrison reached base three times.
Andrew Ledet pitched two innings of scoreless baseball and Carel came on to finish the second game, as well.
Tuttle will play the winner of the Harrah-Piedmont game.
The third place game is set for 4 p.m. with the finals at 6 p.m. If Tuttle were to lose the 6 p.m. game, an “if necessary” game would be played Saturday.
