ARDMORE – Chickasha’s track team had a tough weekend at the state meet, coming home empty-handed for the first time in a few years.
Juron Woods, who qualified at the Durant Regional and made it through Friday’s preliminaries in the 100M, finished seventh out of the final field of eight Saturday with a time of 0:11.18. East Central’s David Gordon took gold with a 0:10.58.
Chickasha’s only other outright qualifier, Xzavier Gray, didn’t finish in the top eight in the 400M in Friday’s preliminaries.
Masci Sledge, an at-large qualifier in the shot, finished eighth overall in a field of fifteen with a throw of 33-02.75. Durant’s Janeshia Lewis took first with a throw of 40-01.75.
Jo Euwins (200M) and the 4X100 relay team (Euwins, Woods, Colton Santos and Meechie Euwins) also received at-large berths but did not make it through Friday’s preliminaries.
