The Chickasha Fightin' Chicks were trying for their first win of the season during homecoming, but the Cache Bulldogs came in and spoiled the festivities with a 24-0 victory over the Fightin’ Chicks.

As the Bulldogs took their first drive down the field on the first drive of the game the Bulldogs with 8:14 left in the first quarter, running back Braedon Borden took it 12 yards to take the 7-0 lead.

Chickasha got the ball for their first offensive drive, but the Cache defense made it three plays before the Chicks had to turn the ball over to the Bulldogs offense.

Driving the clock and the ball the Chickasha defense started to step up and held the Bulldogs only to a field goal as Cache took the 10-0 lead with 10:18 left in the first half.

A few minutes later the Bulldogs' offense kept tiring out Chickahsa’s defense and Cache used their fullback to take the 17-0 lead with a seven-yard touchdown run with 6:23 left to play.

Getting the ball first in the second half, the Chickasha Fightin’ Chicks were able to get the offense going with the biggest play coming from David Thibodeaux Benoit who got some running room and went 40 yards on a fourth down play.

After allowing a one-yard run touchdown late in the third quarter, the Chicks continued offensive momentum with Benoit keeping the pressure with the running game.

Heading into the fourth quarter Chickasha started 35 yards from the end zone and was looking to march down the field to try to take the zero off the scoreboard.

Able to make Cache miss tackles using the running game between Benoit and quarterback Austin Albright the two combined to get in the red zone for the first time of the game early in the fourth quarter.

Only two yards away and needing both of those yards on a fourth and goal play the Cache Bulldogs got a big stop to keep Chickasha scoreless for the game.

Now 0-4 on the season, the Fightin’ Chicks will now travel for their second district game of the season with kickoff at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 against Newcastle to try and get the first win of the 2017 campaign.
