Chickasha basketball will make a return from break on Jan. 4 when they host their own tournament. The tournament is scheduled to end on Jan. 6.


The Lady Chicks are in the top half of the bracket that has been released. Chickasha is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start against the Cache Lady Bulldogs.

Chickasha enters tournament play with a 1-8 record with their lone win being against Southeast.

The Lady Bulldogs are 3-5 on the season.

The top half of the bracket also features a ranked team from Class 6A. Yukon is currently ranked 16th in Class 6A. They will face Star Spencer in the first round.

The bottom half of the bracket features one team currently ranked.

The Lawton MacArthur Lady Highlanders are currently ranked seventh in Class 5A.

They will open the tournament against the Chickasha JV team. That game is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.

Altus will face the Mustang JV team in the other first-round matchup.


The Fightin' Chicks will also host Cache in the first round of the tournament in a game scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start.

Chickasha will return with a record of 3-6 on the season. The Bulldogs are 6-2 on the year.

U.S. Grant will battle Wichita Falls Hirschi in the other first-round game in the same half of the bracket as Chickasha.

Chickasha and Hirschi played in last season's tournament. Chickasha fell in that matchup.

The Chicks did defeat U.S. Grant in last season's tournament 84-69.

The top seed of the tournament in the top half of the bracket is Northwest Classen. They are currently ranked third in Class 5A and have yet to lose a game this season.

Northwest Classen will face Altus in its first-round game.

Decatur, Texas, and Duncan are the two other teams competing.
