The brackets for the upcoming 35th Black Diamond Tournament, hosted by Rush Springs, have been released. The tournament begins Jan. 2 and ends Jan. 6.
In the girls bracket, the winners from the first day of games will then play on Jan. 4. The losers play on Jan. 5.
For the boys, all first-round winners will play Jan. 5, and the losers will play Jan. 4.
All final games will take place on Jan. 6.
Rush Springs is the lone school from the area in the tournament. The Lady Redskins will play Sterling in their tournament opener. That is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
That half of the bracket also features Wayne and Walters. Rush Springs has not played Wayne this season, but they did defeat Walters at the Velma-Alma Comet Classic 46-31.
Velma-Alma is also in the bracket. Rush Springs has defeated them twice this season by a combined six points.
Velma-Alma will play Roff in the first round.
The other matchup in that half of the bracket features Central High and Waurika.
The Rush Springs boys are scheduled to compete at 8:20 p.m. against Velma-Alma on Jan. 2.
The Redskins fell to the Comets in their only other meeting this season.
The other matchup in that half of the bracket features Waurika and Walters.
Rush Springs led Walters by four at halftime before falling by 24 at the Comet Classic.
The top half of the bracket features Roff taking on Central and Wayne battling Sterling.
